The Klickitat County Solid Waste Department continues its commitment to making waste management easier, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible for all residents.

From curbside recycling to transfer station services, here’s what you need to know:

Curbside Recycling
Free curbside recycling is available to eligible residential customers through Republic Services. Residents can sign up to have recyclable materials picked up at the curb, just be sure you’re in a qualifying dwelling and properly use the blue recycling cart. Accepted items include paper, cardboard, plastics, aluminum, and tin.

Transfer Stations & Landfill Services
Klickitat County operates three transfer stations and the Roosevelt Landfill, where residents can drop off trash, recyclables, scrap metal, and more. These facilities help ensure safe disposal and recycling options throughout the county.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
Residents can dispose of household hazardous waste, such as paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, and pesticides, at no direct cost. This service is offered at all three transfer stations, and helps keep dangerous substances out of landfills and the environment.

Solid Waste Advisory Committee
The county maintains a Solid Waste Advisory Committee that meets regularly to discuss programs, policies, and ways to improve services. Community members are encouraged to stay engaged and informed.
